- Enjoying his visits and evaluations of the parishes in the archdiocese
- He sees his priorities as Vocations to the Priesthood, Catechesis and Catholic Charities
- Encourages parish priests to be involved in the catechesis in their parishes. How many candidates for Confirmation? What grades are they in? What textbooks are being used? Who are the catechists for Sacraments of Initiation?
- What have I learned about catechesis? It is comprehensive, coherent, synthesized. It involves the whole person.
- There are approximately 2000 catechumens in the archdiocese
- What does the word “sacrament” mean to you? How does this make you a better person? It makes us more like Jesus. A singular dimension that can’t happen any other way. It is beyond signs and symbols. How does this make us distinct from people of other faith persuasions? What beyond the sacrament? Social outreach – why do you do this?
- Forming catechists is essential. Provide days of prayer and Scripture for them.
- There is very good Youth Ministry in this archdiocese
- There is a need for Young Adult ministries
